Irene has attended Royal Kids since it first started. After her parents divorced, she became a boarding student at the school. Her father shortly remarried and refuses to financially support Irene and her younger sister, who also boards at the school. Her mother now works as a clerk in a government office, however the pay was not high enough to pay Royal Kids school fees. The school offered Irene a scholarship, so that she and her sister could stay together in a stable environment while their parents were separating.
