I wanted to do something fun with Hootie on April Fool's Day, but couldn't think of what would be enjoyable, not too confusing (and not too much work). I had thought of decorating the house like it was Christmas the night before, so when she woke up she would be totally confused. But then I considered the fact that I might spend the rest of the day explaining that it wasn't really Christmas and decided that wasn't the best plan. So I ran across these cupcakes in the book "Hello Cupcake" by Karen Tack and thought they were just the thing.
(Don't worry - the chicken is real)
No problem getting this girl to eat her veggies!
I look happy - but this was pretty gross. I used honey for the "gravy" on the "mashed potatoes." Kind of sick.
This expression captures our true feelings...there is nothing appetizing about a slice of Starburst "butter." But it was a fun one-time thing.
Now that it's NOT April Fool's, I can post the giveaway and not worry about people thinking it's not legit. It's totally legit :)

ReplyDeleteYou've got a new follower!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a great April Fools day idea...I feel like I used up all my prankster ideas in college. Addie might enjoy some water turned to Kool Aid blood at some point, but I don't think she's there yet. Definitely not wanting crickets all over the house. My favorite thing about spring, though, is being able to go for walks and go to the park. It's so nice to be able to get out of the house and enjoy some fresh air! Also, I believe I am a public follower of Radical Crafts...I know I have a link to it on my blog!
ReplyDeleteHey there! I liked you on facebook:)
ReplyDeleteI also became a public follower! I love what you do!
ReplyDeleteThis April was my favorite april fools day joke because I did it with my boys! We brought Jeremiah Brown E's made out of paper instead of brownies:) They loved it! (We also brought some brownies)
ReplyDeleteI posted your mission on facebook! Thanks for motivating me to share about what you do! Its awesome!:)
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite April Fool's prank, but my parents were married on April Fool's day in 1978! The pastor started the wedding ceremony by saying, "It may be April Fool's, but this wedding is no joke." My parents still get teased about it, but apparently they wanted to get married in April and the church was booked every other weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I subscribe to your blog via RSS. I have been meaning to write about your blog and shop on my blog anyway because I love what you are doing. I will still do that very soon!
ReplyDeleteI like you on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part about spring is daffodils...something I definitely associate with happy childhood days and my wonderful spring wedding!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about spring is watching Alex explore it and taking her to see the bunnies at Phillip's Toy Mart.
ReplyDeleteI also like Radical Crafts on Facebook. Hope it gets you some business! Your stuff is so cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat I like most about Spring is that during Spring we get to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior!! I love to wake up on Resurrection Sunday and hear the birds singing. Without Christ - I am nothing!!
ReplyDeleteI have liked Radical Crafts on Facebook, have followed you on your blog and have posted a link to my Facebook wall explaining what you all do. I love your stuff - its super cute!!
ReplyDeletemy fav april fools prank was telling my husband I was expecting a baby. Except that ~3rd year of doing it, it was really true. Took quite a while to convince him it was legit that year ;-)
